Art Commitment International Foundation

The Art Commitment International Foundation (ACIF) serves as a distinguished institution dedicated to the mediation and counsel pertaining to the acquisition and divestiture of fine art. In addition to facilitating transactions, ACIF undertakes the discerning task of authenticating artistic works, ensuring a nuanced and reliable assessment of provenance and legitimacy.

Art Commitment International Foundation (ACIF) is a foundation founded in 2013 by chairman Ernst Sonneveldt.

After running a successful organization and consultancy company, he accidentally came into contact with a collector who was looking for a Picasso Dora Maar. Thanks to his international network of relationships, Ernst quickly found a collector who wanted to sell this Picasso.

After this successful deal, in which competencies such as coordination and mediation came in handy, Ernst started simultaneously orientating himself with both buyers and sellers of artwork in general, and the top segment in particular.

ACIF now has an international network of so-called ACIF agents. These are people who have and maintain direct contacts with buyers and sellers through their relationship networks. These ACIF agents all work on a commission basis (pre-agreed percentages). Anyone can register with ACIF, but only if they have direct relationships with buying or selling parties.

You can of course request information about our foundation, our objectives and our daily management from the Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam.

As an example, two current ACIF projects:

* An owner of a Goya painting has reported to ACIF to prepare the painting for sale, but ACIF has also been given a mandate to independently find a buyer.

* An assignment has been given to ACIF by a well-known art collector to search for a so-called blue Picasso. ACIF now has two options from a family that may want to sell one or both Blue Picassos.
